A new informal lunch-and-learn for designers, creatives and makers exploring where AI and design meet, hosted with Chris Armstrong at Ormeau Labs in Belfast on Thursday 10 September.
Delighted to announce a new creative AI event I’m hosting alongside Chris Armstrong next month in Ormeau Labs, Belfast.
Impromptu is an informal lunch-and-learn for designers, creatives and makers exploring the intersection of AI and design.
AI is already changing how creative work gets made, but there’s a real opportunity for designers and creatives to shape the conversation around it.
Not through hype or fear or by pretending anyone has all the answers.
But by getting in a room, sharing what we’re trying, asking good questions and learning from each other.
For the first session, we’ll be joined by Robert Stringer for a practical show-and-tell on creative AI workflows, experiments, projects and side-projects.
I’ll also be sharing a short talk on what happens when modern AI tools meet retro hardware and why creative constraints are still where a lot of the interesting stuff happens.
There’ll be time for Q&A, open discussion and a bit of networking afterwards.
Bring a sandwich, grab a seat and come along if you’re curious about where AI fits into creative work.
Big thanks to Ormeau Labs for hosting us.
