Tim Potter
Designer & maker
I'm a designer and developer based in the UK. I co-run Little Thunder, a strategic design partnership, and host impromptu, a monthly event on AI and design.
Practice
I'm passionate about UX, UI, web and product design: the bit where wild ideas get shaped into things people actually want to use.
Path
Before Little Thunder I was a lecturer at the University of Ulster, proof that I can talk about design for hours without anyone pulling the fire alarm. I've worked with scrappy startups, larger organisations and a few names that would have made younger me lose his mind, including Electronic Arts and SEGA.
Exploring
I'm interested in how AI and design work together, as collaborators, not competitors. Most of what I build and write about now sits somewhere in that overlap.
Events
I co-host Impromptu, an informal event in Belfast for designers, creatives and makers shaping how AI fits into creative work.
Else
Away from work I'm usually with my family, making music, paddleboarding, playing (and making) retro games or cheering on Man United.
